Achtung Twitterverse! Geotagging with Yelp arrives in Deutschland

Imagine it’s Friday night and you’re in Berlin at world-renowned techno club, Berghain. You want to share the brain-rattling awesomeness on Twitter. I mean, selfies don’t post themselves, right? Now there is a much better way to do it!

Twitter users in Germany can now tap the location icon to tag Tweets with local business information powered by Yelp. Users can see Yelp ratings and business details, as well as other Tweets and photos tagged at the same location by tapping into individual Tweets. Here’s what a Yelp geotagged Tweet looks like:

This feature will initially be available to Twitter users in Germany on iOS and Android, with the web version at Twitter.com coming soon.Twitter is gradually rolling out the integration which will launch in Germany and expand to additional countries, such as the United Kingdom and France, in the coming months.

Why Deutschland first? Whether you’re interested in Berlin’s highly touted currywurst served until the wee hours at Zur Bratpfanne , Munich’s historical farmers market Viktualienmarkt or Hamburg’s  Uhlenhorster Weinstube for roast beef and fondue, Germans are increasingly showing their Yelp love, so we thought it’s time to show some love right back. Not to mention, Hamburg is the host to awesome Yelp sales, engineering and product teams!

See you on Yelp… and Twitter!
